It’s been five years since the worst gas blowout in U.S. history at the SoCalGas Aliso Canyon storage facility, and Los Angeles communities are still fighting to shut down Aliso Canyon!
While running for office, Governor Newsom promised Los Angeles families he would expedite the shut down of Aliso Canyon. And while in office, he's directed the CA Public Utiilties Commission to expedite plans to shut it down. Despite his promises, Aliso Canyon use has ramped up by 3000% under Governor Newsom's watch when it should be ramping down.
Residents have been demanding accountability, and have requested meetings multiple times with the Governor and his staff, but are being ignored. He needs to hear directly from families and their allies that his actions are hurting, not helping, people depending on him to keep his promise.
We're taking this critical message directly to the Governor at his house.
